Saguaro National Park
Ability: Beginners
Type: Desert Birds
Habitat: Desert (Characterized by Saguaro and Ocotillo)
Target Species: Gambel’s Quail, Greater Roadrunner,White-winged Dove, Costa’s Hummingbird, Ash-throated Flycatcher, Cactus Wren, Curve-billed Thrasher, Black-throated Sparrow
Comments: This is an excellent trip for those new to birding or new to Southern Arizona.
Madera Canyon
Ability: All Levels
Type: Breeding Species, Migrants
Habitat: Oak-hackberry thickets to pine woodlands
Target Species: Arizona Woodpecker, Acorn Woodpecker, Elegant Trogan, Magnificent Hummingbird, Sulphur-bellied Flycatcher, Dusky-capped Flycatcher, Red-faced Warbler, Painted Redstart
Comments: This trip is especially productive during the summer for breeding species and in spring and fall for migrants.
Ramsey Canyon
Ability: All levels
Type: Hummingbirds
Habitat: Riparian woodland
Target Species: Magnificent, Blue-Throated, Violet-Crowned, Costa's, Anna's, Rufous, Broad-tailed, Black-chinned
Comments: On special occasions, we will see Plain-capped Starthroat, Lucifer, Berylline, and White-eared Hummingbirds.
Patagonia/Kino Springs
Ability: All Levels
Type: Water birds, Hawks, Hummingbirds
Habitat: Riparian, marsh
Target Species: Black-bellied Whistling-Duck, Gray Hawk, Zone-tailed Hawk, Violet-crowned Hummingbird, Broad-billed Hummingbird, Yellow-billed Cuckoo, Green Kingfisher, Vermilion Flycatcher, Rose-throated Becard, Tropical Kingbird
Comments: This trip is most productive during the summer breeding season, although birds such as the Elegant Trogon and Black-capped Gnatcatcher can occur at other seasons.
Chiricahua Mountains
Ability: All levels
Type: Migrant songbirds, breeding warblers, Trogons
Habitat: Oak-Juniper woodland to Spruce forest
Target Species: White-tailed Kite, Montezuma Quail, Band-tailed Pigeon, Elegant Trogon, Acorn Woodpecker, Black Phoebe, Grace's Warbler, Olive Warbler, Juniper Titmouse
Comments: This is a ?? hour drive from Tucson and an early start is required. This is a highly productive trip.
Madera Canyon - Butterflies

Type: Water birds, Hawks, Hummingbirds
Habitat: Oak-hackberry thickets to pine woodlands
Target Species: Checkered White, Western Tiger Swallowtail, Two-tailed Swallowtail, Southern Dogface, Golden-banded Skipper, California Sister
